We always used fairy non bio in the uk as my OH and his skin :curse:
Hear i use tide, but the liquid stuff, seems to working fine so far
We have a top loader machine, dont know if it is different, i just use it

Their laundry soda is awesome!.... Also use their dryer balls....
Otherwise, plain old soap flakes are pretty good as they fully rinse away.
