washing lines??

Re: washing lines??
well, if it's heavier, it's harder to lift it up, so it stands to reason it costs more to deliver it. It's a well-known fact (at least, it would have been, yesterday morning) that metric electricity weighs more per kilowatt-hour than good old fashioned lightweight Imperial electricity, which is a mere couple of hundredweight per foot-pound-calorie, or something.
I have a fleeting suspicion dbd is tugging gently at your pedal extremities, in case the other one has bells on

Another line of evidence for the heavy water theory is cryptographically contained in the thread title.
Heavy water has a distinctly lower vapour pressure than regular water (as long as your units are consistent) and therefore is unsuitable for clothes washing (heavily stained or not) if your intent is to use a washing line.

Hi,
one thing we didn't see when looking for a house in West Lethbridge, Alberta, was a house with a washing line in view. Being English and always enjoying pegging out our washing, can we do it in Alberta, or is it a banned activity?? We found out that almost all new build houses have a laundry included, washer and dryer. Not very eco friendly when you consider that Lethbridge has a very high "windiness" count. I believe it blows in from the Rockies on about 325 days a year. Something else we found out, was that to buy trees to form a wind break you need a very healthy bank balance!

Ah, great stuff. Yes, we know all about the wind
So I guess it's no good bringing over our regular plastic pegs....lol
Whereabouts in west Lethbridge are you? We will be on Copperwood.

I'm glad you posted this question, as it has crossed my mind. We're emigrating from the UK to Okotoks, AB next month and I'm packing my expensive fancy-pants pegs. I'm a housewife, and yes, I do iron duvet covers. :-) I'm also a bit of an enforced hippy when it comes to eco-stuff as I have asthma, allergies and sensitivities. My other question would be...can you grow a vegetable garden and keep a couple of hens in your back garden? or are there rules governing this too?
Green living it most certainly is not.

I have been notified that a couple of people have left me PM's, but for some reason or other, access to them has been denied me. I use Gmail and these PM's are being "blocked". I've no idea why................
Thanks to all who have responded to my original post re washing lines, interesting stuff.
