Wanting to nurse in Vancouver
Hi all. I am a diploma level mental health nurse and my partner is a merchant seaman. Am wondering if I might have better luck topping up to a degree before we apply to come? and wondered on others experiences. I keep getting mixed advice on how to apply too and wondered if someone could point us in the right direction. Many thanks

It probably depends where you trained and when. You'll probably get a bit more advice with a few more details.
The NNAS process will assess your pre-registration training and then the regulator assesses that along with your post-registration qualifications and experience.
I think most provinces now require people qualified after a certain year to have their degree but for older qualifications this isn't necessary.

Plenty of threads discussing this, as mentioned starting point for all provinces except Quebec is NNAS

Omg just got as far as the payment on the NNAS website, nearly £500! is there no way round this? it's only to check my qualification

Canadian nurses qualify with experience in all areas of nursing, and this is usually where an immigrant fails, and has to upgrade.
and, it is NOT cheap to emigrate.
You have to get your qualifications assessed.
