What does it say on back of card? I think most people are being told 2 years ( yes this is not a misprint) You can go ont he CIC website and check average processing times. This is meant to be updated every three months or so, They seem to be keeping very close to these time lines, give or take a few months. People applying last Dec/ January have averaged 13/15 months for medical requests. So expect 18 if your AOR card says not to contact before 24 months. But all you can do is guess. Some have gone through within 1 year, with no logic as to why.
Just get in a carriage and enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However past performance is not necessarily a guide to the future.

You'd really have to had a bad day to wade through all that paperwork.....still suppose it keeps someone in a job !
What does AOR stand for - acknowledgement of receipt ??

Canadian bureaucracy perceives time in the same way that the old Hindu gods did: In terms of eons, not years as us mere mortals do! While they blink, Millenia pass (or maybe just a few years
)We've just been told that we will have to wait at least another 6 months until the medical requests
That'll be 20 months in total since the paperwork arrived at London and over two years since this all began. Meanwhile life has been on hold. Having serious reconsideration at this point and may just jack it in to travel. So much beer, so little time!

1. It does take a certain amount of time to process a file, and carry out necessary checks.
2. It seems that the Canadian government has set the pass mark too low since late 2003 and the number of applications coming in is exceeding the number of available visas/processing resources.

Beating the system??, having spent almost 7 months putting together my application for Skilled worker and getting a little concerned that the 67 point amnesty may indeed rise any day, I am just kinda wondering whether there will be anything to be gained by taking my emigration application with me when I visit vancouver in 3 weeks time as the waiting times are far shorter. Now I know there may be occassion that they haul me in and quiz me, but given abserdly cheap airfares and that I would be nipping over a few times between now and moving anyway does anyone think this is a goer or just a complete no brainer. ( im inclined to think with these things if it were that easy someone else would ave donit first).
Advice pleeze oh learned ones!!!
