Default VRQ's are they a recognised qualification in the immigration process?

Hi all, newbie to the forum here but will no doubt be posting regularly. I intend to apply for immigration to Canada under the skilled worker section as a Welder, luckily this is on there list of priority occupations.
Now I will shortly attain a VRQ level 3 advanced diploma in fabrication and welding ( a level 3 qualification) and have an NVQ level 2 in welding and have the relevant time spent in industry experience. Now I know that Canada Immigration recognises NVQ's and I presume they will accept a VRQ (after all both NVQ's and VRQ's are issued by City and Guilds) but I just thought I'd check.

Thanks for your help everyone
