I'm a British national , I just recently visted my Girlfriend for a 5 month period and i was there to visit her earlier on in the year for a couple of months , im planing to go back in a weeks time. It will mean that i was in the Uk for a week and then back to canada . Will this be a problem? Is there a maxium amount of time one can visit Canada ? I know that as a British citerzen i can stay of periods of up to 6 months.

Please can anyone help me

IIRC, It's technically six months in a 12-month span, not per visit. That's to
prevent people (such as yourself) from simply walking (or flying) over the border,
then coming right back and "starting over" their six months. If the immigration folks
see your passport stamped with such long stays so close to each other, you might have
a problem. (Luckily for me, Americans don't need passports to enter Canada ).
