Default Visiting USA from Canada with an IEC work Permit

Hi All,

I did try to search for this, but couldn't find an exact answer.

Currently in Vancouver on first IEC work permit. I would like to visit some friends in Seattle for the weekend.

Can anyone tell me if they ran into any problems doing this whilst on an IEC?? Also, if going by car, I know we would need an I-94 for USD$6, but how about if we took the train?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

You still pay the $6 at the station if you take the train. I would also recommend paying early and picking up your tickets before the day you travel, the guys are the station are notoriously slow at selling tickets.

You shouldn't run into any problems, lots of people head to the States while on the IEC.

I had no problems going to the States either. Is very simple, just fill out the I-94 and pay the $6. The Americans are happy because you have a valid work permit to return to Canada on, and then the Canadians don't really care because you have a valid work permit.

Should be plain sailing (famous last words!)
