Default Visiting Canada

My husband and I would like to meet in Canada for a few weeks while we are still waiting on our processing of US immigration for him. Our daughter and I live in US. He has contacted the Canada embassy and one of the things they asked him to bring to apply for a visitor visa was an invitation letter. But we don't know anyone in Canada, we are just tourists.

Has anyone dealt with this and have any suggestions??

So where is your husband from?
And why doesn't he take a tourist trip to the same place in canada and just happen to bump into you in the hotel.

I would guess that he is from a country that requires a TRV to enter Canada.

Thats the problem with most request here we are left guessing.

I'm guessing the person is asking for some one to send a invitation to a total stranger from a totally unknown country.

Hard to help in those circumstances, unless of course you believe the emails about winning the Irsh lottery and the dead Nigeria businessman.

Yes, he requires a visitor visa. I am not familiar with Canada rules so this request for an invitation seems odd. We are just tourist in Canada, can you only be a tourist if you know someone that lives there?

Or is this just a blanket check item and if you don't have it, it really is not an issue??
