Default Visa question

Hello,

Is it possible to use a student gap year visa to allow you to work for upto a year whilst waiting for your work permit/permenat residence etc to be approved?

This is something I had suggested to me and I was wondering if its possible...would I have to leave at the end of that year and then re-enter again?

I mean if I was a on a gap year in canada and happened to meet a girl and get married, she then applys to sponsor me is it possible for me to stay or do I have to make a return trip to the UK and then back again?

Sorry if that sounds abit jumbled....

lol

Indeed it does....I have however already meet that girl(who lives in canada) and I was thinking of taking a gap year over there...however I want to know how that would then effect our visa application should we get married and she sponsor me???
