Hi!
I have to extend my visitors visa before the six months expires wich will be on the 20 Jan 2003, so I am going to do it the 23 Dec. I got married on the 16 Nov 2002 (We are so happy!)and will be going into the inland sponsorship process shortly after my visa has been extended. So this is my questions:
I want to be sure I do this correctly because we would be shattered if we could not be together in Canada. Sorry if there is some stupid questions, but I have to be sure.......
APPLICATION>
1. - Do I apply for extention of temporary resident status as a visitor?
2. - Client ID Number - is that the ID number I use in my home country?
3. - They ask for family members on application.....do I put them on and
with [documents requested] just tick the NONE box
4. - I ask for a year extention of my visa REASON: (To be with my
husband and continue the inland sponsorship process & to
continue to be a volunteer at the Canadian Red Cross Toronto
Region) Is that a valid reason?
5. -Where do I go with my visa extention application?
6. - What happens if they reject? For some weird reason(I have heard that
there are applicants that was married applying for a extention got
rejected.
7. - Do I need to show proof of anything.....still waiting on my original
marriage certificate (takes 90 days) that is past the visa extention
period, can I use the one they gave us on the day of our marriage? Is
there any other documents they might need?
8. - How much funds do I need available when extending my visa for a year?
9. - How much does a visitors visa extention cost?
10. - What is the do's and dont's?
Thanks for your time!
Help will be appreciated!
