Vancouver's fall from grace in city livability race

Re: Vancouver's fall from grace in city livability race
Well, yes, we're going to have to go back to Vancouver next year. A prospect which has caused as much excitement in this house as root canal surgery or replacing the drains. Still, I thought, it's not Calgary or Edmonton. "Edmonton" I was informed "would have macabre interest". I suppose that's the glimpse of hell that makes misery tourism work. "Tepid" was used in reference to the charm of Vancouver, by that standard I'd say that Calgary can't make lukewarm.
God, Canada's alright for some things but it's not a place you'd want to waste your preciously holidays is it?

They are spending a huge amount of money, unless, of course, one is using the north american definition of billion. Even so, a grand each is lots.

I know each cruise ship is estimated to bring $2m into vancouver - and that's only based on people spending a couple of nights there; admittedly that's in places like the pan pacific.
