vancouver.....well ?

vancouver.....well ?
now in vancouver for 10 days...been everywhere and only place that looks ok is west van......found the city busy,dirty and faceless.........have been recruited here on a salary of $205,000.00 CAD........thought it was okay,but now appears average....i have been duped ! got to weigh up other alternatives....very disappointed with 'van'.......has anyone else faced this or does everyone love the place............cheers.

Do you even know you are born?? It would take my husband 5 yrs to earn that much - and he's in IT (which is supposed to be well paid but certainly isn't to our experience).
I know property's extortionately expensive in Vancouver but other people manage to live there on a third of your salary...
Did you check out the cost of living prior to arriving? I'd advise renting for the first 6 mths / year anyway, till you're sure you're staying (or not).
Hope you don't mind me asking but what line of work are you in anyway?
Best of luck with whatever you decide and I hope you can make it work in Vancouver
