Default Vancouver trip....

Had a great time in Vancouver, so much so, I could be tempted to move there! Lovely to see all the gardens already in bloom with plants that we can't grow here (or only as annuals for a very short season). Yep - much as I love my hometown, I have to confess BC is very tempting.....

The only downsides were the traffic and number of people...very crowded. It took 50 minutes to drive 16 miles to the hotel!

Friday - after a business meeting, we took a short boat trip around False Creek, then dinner at the Sandbar on Granville Island, followed by a brilliant play at the arts club - very funny.

Saturday we went to Stanley Park and saw the sights, took an impromptu hike and got chased by a cheeky squirrel; also spent a few hours at the Aquarium.

Sunday we went to the Capilano suspension bridge, and then the beach in the afternoon before heading to the airport to come home. There can't be many places where you can sunbathe on a beach in glorious weather with a view of snow capped mountains - it was lovely. A few pics attached!

1) Swimming with Beluga's
2) The beach
3) The Squirrel I mentioned
4) Capilano Suspension Bridge

Sounds like a wonderful weekend - mind you we had the sun out especially

But seriously -did you really find the traffic bad? I travel 60km a day for my commute and the drive is ok really (just get stuffed occasionally when there is an accident on one of the bridges

Great pix Calgal, 'specially The Beach shot. BC is probably the best province for outstanding scenery - closely followed by Alberta (but I'm terribly biased)

Wreck Beach aka Creep Bay. Full of pervs who look like they need ironing and cruising folk from downtown. Still, the weather is beautiful - it hit 33 degrees in my garden yesterday and the kids were playing in the sprinklers.

This has confirmed my suspicion that dingbat does indeed have a laundry fetish.

Oops sorry Claire, I missed this one

Yep - really was that bad, mind you we did land at probably the worst time - 5:30pm on a weekday. It was pretty much nose to tail all the way.

Sounds like we didn't miss much then (Though I would have fit right in with the needing ironing....lol)

If you move to BC be sure you know where you can find work as it is very difficult to fall into a normal paid job, and they take forever to recruit.

Good luck

If work is not a problem then go for it come to BC. It has the best climate in Canada. We arrived in march and apart from the odd day of rain the sky has been blue just about every day. A few days ago temp reached 39 deg. The locals just take there boats to the lakes and go fishing or just for a Barbee. You can even go crab trapping at places like White Rock (its nice) must have a day permit($5) check it out if you ever get here. Harrison hot springs is nice. We have more of a life here then in the UK, you spend more time out here then you do in the UK. No more stuck watching soaps.

Good Luck
