Vancouver to Banff or Jasper

Vancouver to Banff or Jasper
Hi all
Firstly happy new year, hope you all enjoyed yourselves over Christmas.
I have experienced the train from Vancouver to Jasper a few times on the Via Rail train and the scenery is awesome. The Rocky Mountaineer has the Kamloops to Banff option, has anyone done both with any recommendations? Looking to buy my Dad a trip in summer and not sure which way to go, destination doesn't matter as Banff and Jasper are both nice, just want the most scenic trip for him.

The scenery is pretty much the same on either route imo. However I can recommend the Whistler to Jasper Option that stops in Quesnal instead of Kamloops and the link from Vancouver to Whistler on the way up. That is wonderfully scenic!!
