Phone and internet bundle is around $85 a month, local calls are included. We've only just got gas in a very few parts of NS so most homes are heated either with oil or electric, or a combination of these with a wood stove. Older homes are not very well insulated so can cost a fortune to heat no matter what you use, they were built when oil was cheap. Newer homes, especially those at R2000 levels are way better. The homes are pretty big here compared to the UK, we have electric only in a large home and our annual bill is approaching $2,400.

Hope this helps.
