US exit to Canada system moving to Phase 2

So basically CBP and CBSA share information on exits to Canada and the US of third country nationals in order to monitor overstays and Phase 2 will expand the programme to more POEs.
Given some of the crazy "can I get around this by doing this" plans I've seen on here, I thought it was worth sharing. Basically the answer is no.

It's a good system, when you're down there for 10mins just to get gas they can see it on their computer screens and know you're being honest about the duration.

It certainly seems preferable to having to stick bits of cardboard in the passport and remember to hand them back.
