If you have a good internet connection ,download the Torch browser.
It's basically Chrome with some add ons.
One is Halo - an inbuilt VPN which allows you to stream BBC/ITV as if you are in the UK.
It also has a built in video recorder so you can download virtually any video from websites or youTube. It also has a built in torrent downloader.
I use it here in the Philippines to obtain programmes that I cannot get by other means.

Media hint seems to work better for me on google chrome than Firefox. Occasionally I have to clear my cache and browser history .

What's your time difference? Are you looking at live viewing?
Same day or do you mind waiting? What are you looking to watch?

There are a ton of sites that will enable you to watch stuff a few hours after the UK broadcast with no fees, no registering, no gadgets needed.

True. I watch a lot of stuff via sites like warchseries. You just need to work our which play button to press so that you don't get spammed !

And accept that just because it's listed doesn't mean it's there. Although there's more than I can cope with.

Not sure what you mean by the spamming thing.

+1 except I think you meant Hola (not Halo). Also you don't have to use Torch. I use the Hola extension with Chrome. I think it's available for other browsers.

I don't get that. At least not without searching.:rofl:
Maybe adblocker or something similar stops it.

No its not just you, i hate the site it really does try its best to spam you into downloading special video downloaders or other odd stuff. All the time you are searching there is a playboy TV ad running (ok that doesn't bother me, lol)

There is now a way to get Media hint to work free. It involves installing the older version that's not updateable. I now have everything working as before. :D

Watchseries.to? Nothing like that for me. Works as well as when I first came across it.

Is this with chrome? Still free on Firefox.

The BBC 'problem' seems to be solved by selecting watch in HD.

Actually it wasn't the .to one i was using but even trying that i get constant poker or similar ads, and everytime you select a link it offers you to download and install some video player. I know it does work but seems to be full of ads and stuff you don't need.

Yes it was Chrome as Media hint is no longer free since a month or so now

If you use expat shield you can go directly to BBC iplayer and download using their BBC desktop player function. Then you dont have to deal with buffering. Media hint is charging now, the dirty basstads (Catherine Tate).

Got back from London yesterday. Managed not to watch a thing while there apart from the bottom of empty beer glasses :)

Re: UK TV. Help Please

I have paid about £20 for a years unlimited data using Tunnel Bear on my iPad, and I can use iPlayer, itv, 4OD, demand 5 - streaming and download. The only thing I can't make work is the TV catchup app.

The Tunnel Bear VPN seems a whole lot more reliable than Expat Shield, but for a freebie Expat Shield isn't bad!! Managed to get some (terrestrial broadcast) rugby games on it when necessary!!

Any help?

I just don't get stuff like that. Maybe adblock plus stops it.

Just curious as to why people are paying for stuff when the Hola browser plug in is free? I watch BBC iPlayer etc and don't pay anything. Am I missing something?

Re: UK TV. Help Please

We use unotelly, pay $40/year for it.

It's always on, and it's set at the router level, so any electronic device at home (computer, phone, tablet, etc) all connect via unotelly.

It also lets you set up specific sites for specific counties. So when I go to BBC, I show as from the UK. When I go to Netflix, I show as from the US. I don't have to turn anything on or off, it just does it. No ads, no fuss, no changing anything, it just works. :)

$40/year for that service... yeah whatever, I can get on board with that. :)

Maybe not heard of it. I can't say I've seen it mentioned before and I just did a search in the Canada section and all I found was a Spanish Hola.

Also, I think some were happy with what they got on free trials and then paid up and just don't want to risk changing what works.

Doubtless others find it hard to believe there are reliable free options.

MediaHint is still working great for me and still free.

But i just added Hola, although I have disabled it just in case both of them together mess something up.

It's nice to have something in reserve.

Of course, not everything works for everyone. I never got Expat Shield to work, nor Stealthy while others did. Some are having MediaHint problems with various workarounds being required.

+1, I am also interested! Do share.

(I bought some Chromecasts but the stupid things resolve against their own DNS servers and not the ones Unotelly uses, have to work out how to get them to cooperate... Just been lazy to look it up and sit down to figure it out...)

What a revelation that hola is, we are also interested in the android box now too. ;)

We have been using HMA which is okay but we frequently lose the connection and have to switch cities.

Amazon.ca and Futureshop. Prices vary.....$110 seems common.

Check out the customer reviews.

Paid $200 for mine , but worth every cent . Look on your local Kijiji pages under googlebox/android .
Not being mugged by Bell every month is an added bonus .
