Default UK tax back???

Hello Everyone,

If all goes well, I will be in Vancouver for August 2007. I should have a PR visa and was wondering as I will not be returning to the UK and will be settling in Canada, can I claim any of my UK tax paid for 2007?.

Its a nice thought

Thank you

Richard

Yup, file P85 to claim your UK tax back...don't know if you'll then have to declare that to the Canadian inland jobby though.

No. A tax refund is the repayment of a debt owed by HMRC.

if you bug off before the end of the tax year, chances are, you've made more than your due, as it's worked out as a yearly average, so you'll be able to claim it back....okay, heading off at Aug, you won't get a huge return, but you will get some back..
