Big Interest In Small Apartment

The smallest apartment in Britain's capital London has found a tenant for $1,000 a month.

The real estate agency which let it says the converted storage closet measuring just 5mx5m fits in a kitchenette, shower and wardrobe under a loft bed.

The apartment, in the fashionable Notting Hill area, was on the market for only three days.

The agency says the new tenant is a young professional woman with a very active social life, so she probably doesn't want to spend too much time there.

Why doesn't she just sleep in a box. Saying that, I can't afford to live there so I suppose if location is important you adapt.

Perhaps she writes it off as a place of business.

Good point. Especially if she specializes in Sado Masochism!

Years ago I had a friend in Paris who had a one room apartment like that, she was a student and went home on the weekends so we'd borrow her place. It was a nightmare trying to sleep in a building where all the apartments were that small. All night, elevator clanking, bedsprings creaking, bidet gushing, with just the occasional slap, scream and shout to break the monotony.

The poules were bad but worse came in the morning. One cubical housed a dentist. Still the elevator, still the begging and screaming, but now the drill as well.
