hi..right then my daughters uk passport is now coming close tae running out ,this will be her first adult passport (we have PR ),now the question i am asking is ..do we get the old passport returned wi the new one(from washington) as it has the stamps etc in it.

Yes, they send the old passports back.
Edit: but i would photocopy every page you might need just in case.

The passport that has been replaced has the corners cut off.
