Default UK driver's license exchange in Ontario changes

Just saw this on the news and knew some here might be interested. Starting March 1st you can exchange a British license without having to take the road test, just a vision test. I know I have read complaints about this option not being available before and just wanted to pass on the good news. The full story is here:

Do you think other states will now follow as GB is open to all Canadian drivers

Hopefully under the same spirit of co-operation, Canada will start recognising UK qualifications!

One can dream!

I think you will find they are called "Provinces" when you get this far North

Is this exchange program open to Brits who already live in Ontario? I couldn't work that out from the announcement.

Yes. It would work the same as the existing exchange program for US licenses. You walk in, surrender your UK license, and are given an Ontario.

Default Phew...

Thank eff for that!

Taking some sort of driving test again would NOT have been fun!

Pity my poor girlfriend though. When we get there, she won't have been driving long enough to qualify!

I had to take the test again. It's no big deal.
