UK citizenship ceremonies
Does anyone (JAJ?) know if attending a citizenship ceremony is still a requirement for obtaining UK citizenship? The IND website says, "The content for this page is currently under review and will be updated soon."

Is there a policy change in the works?

As far as I know you still have to attend the ceremony to get your certificate and then you can say you have British citizenship and then you can apply for your British passport. You have to sign the register during the ceremony and swear/pledge your allegiance.

No policy change in the works, all they're doing is updating the website.

Thanks people!
What do I have to pledge allegiance to and do they check if you're crossing your fingers behind your back?

"I, AB, swear by Almighty God that, on becoming a British citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors according to law".
You may take a non-religious affirmation if you prefer.
And you also need to take a Pledge to the United Kingdom:
"I will give my loyalty to the United Kingdom and respect its rights and freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values. I will observe its laws faithfully and fulfil my duties and obligations as a British citizen."

The presiding judge clearly couldn't give a toss, either. Except in my case.
