UK citizen moving to Canada for an year with two kids
Hi
I am moving to Toronto for a fellowship for a year only and my wife can’t accompany me due to her job circumstances. I would be paid 95000 CAD as basic salary in my job. I just want to know if it will be a good decision to move with kids ( 7 and 12 years). My job will not be too demanding as compared with my wife who is a doctor and would struggle to manage two kids on her own.
I want to enquire if logistically and financial it’s a sound decision or not. If I need to move with kids which part of the city would offer me acceptable circumstances to live with kids and that too not being too expensive

Property prices and rents are extremely expensive in the GTA. A small 2 bed apartment, to rent, will most likely cost upwards of $3K per month, depending on area. It may be difficult to get your children into schools nearby. Do people live in the GTA on that salary, yes, but it depends on the standard of living you are accustomed to. exactly how close you need to be to Downtown and the area.
