Weve done the same, taken 2 tvs bought a step down transformer 110/220 3000 watt, we put the tv on and the standby light comes on but it will not play videos or switch on, any one tell me what i am doing wrong?

This might be it, you would likley need a step-up transformer from 110 volt as your TV (if it is from the UK) is likley 240v. Talk to your electrical dealer before connecting anything to the power supply to be sure you are getting the right thing for your TV to avoid a hazardous situation. |

You'd need a Step Up adapter, not Step Down

whats a step up adapter? and were do you get them from?
Most work both ways’ being able to step up and step down, look for a switch on the case.. If it’s setup or switched the wrong way then you have probably about 60v at the TV |
