Trip to Edmonton
Hi all,
Before moving over to Alberta, I plan to pop over to Edmonton to see how business is set up and housing differences, info, research.
Does anyone know of any cheap bnbs or room rents for 10/14 days? I can't drive so it would need to be 15/20mins near a bus or rail link.
Kind regards all

Homestay might be of use to you - from 1 night and usually a lot cheaper. You can choose to have meals or not I believe.. most hosts offer advice on how to get around / things to do - you can use the dropdown to specify an area in Edmonton you want to stay in - and check the descriptions for the location near to bus stops etc. https://www.homestay.com/homestays/s...&commit=Search

Gone on AirBnB there are many cheap places to stay.

Re: Trip to Edmonton
I'm just south of Edmonton in Leduc, you are more than welcome to contact me, and you can find me at the airport most days, some things to bear in mind if you don't drive,
Public transport in Edmonton is limited to busses and a tram type system ETS
There is effectively no rail service apart from the trans provincial service proveded by Viarail
Like most Canadaian cities these days we are very much a car culture, so if you don't drive it will present challenges, my Canadian wife is always astounded by how we can get practically anywhere in the UK on public transport, in Edmonton this is not the case.
try to limit your accomodation to the the downtown core, or something close to ETS (century park or the universty)
if it is for fact finding i'm always available and happy to help, its a great diverse city, has its challenges (where doesn't these days), but fascinating nontheless!! and if you are coming soon wrap up warm winter is coming!!

Thank you very much indeed! That is awfully kind!
I have opted to take my brother in law as he drives though that in itself is presenting challenges with Brits using debit cards and high fees to pay on top of the rental!
If I can find something, we will start in Calgary 3 days and head to Edmonton for the majority of the stay.. I've used air bnb.
Thank you everyone, so kind!

Additionally, have a quick read of this thread on car hire (there's sure to be others, I just can't find them right now, lol)
Calgary - how to sort out a car (rental and buy)
google.ca for getting an idea of cheaper places to rent a vehicle... about $17 a day for a small vehicle with unlimited mileage https://www.cheapoair.ca/carnext/Car/ListView/s/2
