Touchdown
Well that's us finally arrived in Guelph as of 1 hour ago. Sitting here on the laptop in the room which thank God has a fast internet connection!
Head numb, stomach churning and all the usual thoughts running through my beleaguered brain - "What have we done, oh my God, how will we survive?" etc etc.
Cannot contemplate unpacking so off out to eat and get teabags.
Will update later.

Done and thanks to everyone for the thoughts.
Pick up hire car tomorrow and can get out and explore. Chucking down outside - thought I'd left rain behind.

Re: Touchdown
Good luck man =) Glad to hear you made it through the chaos at the airports. You must have been deeply pleased when the nutjobs decided to try it on again days before your departure.

Re: Touchdown
Thanks
Very quiet at both airports. We were the only people at Immigation and again at customs. Got through in minutes even with the cats (one of which was covered in filth )
Would thoroughly recommend booking pets on as excess baggage rather than through a cargo company. They were waiting in the baggage hall when we collected our own luggage.
Now in Guelph typing this at 6am (have slept for 1 hours). Off to shower and eat..and drive...and discover.....and get organised.

Re: Touchdown
Got SIN card and Ontario driving licence organised wthin 1 hour yesterday! Now that's efficiency.
Then got both a cheque and savings account within 30 minutes, with ATM cards.
Met with estate agents (they bought us lunch) and got an idea of properties in the area.
Picked up rental car (scared witless but coping with roads so far) and started to explore.
That was Tuesday, now for today. Hope it's as productive.
Intend to run for mayorship by Saturday and then onto national office by next weekend
So far, so good. Just have to keep hitting those demons in my head.
