Default Toronto - Skiing

Hiya I know this is kinda the wrong time of year to be asking this (just thinking ahead!)
But where's the nearest/decentist place near Toronto to go Skiing.
We will be either heading out to Vancouver or Toronto depending on Jobs in September and whilst I know places near to Vancouver to go skiing I don't really know about Toronto.

Any advice much appreciated

If you're a keen skier, don't move to Toronto.

I work in Toronto with a keen skier. She has a condo at Tremblant and a timeshare at Blue Mountain. She rents them out and goes to Austria.

Nice one, where do you work.... it sounds rather well paid if you can afford a condo and a timeshare

That part of Ontario is not what one would call hilly.

She's divorced so the operative question is "where does her ex work?".

yep - I can see why.

If it's skiing you're after then look west

Utah seems a popular destination and somewhere else skiing colleagues seem to like is Chile. I suppose that's because it's the reverse season. The only people I know who ski in western Canada fly from Oslo, everywhere outside Norway seems cheap to them. For people working here it's cheaper to go to Austria or Switzerland so someone moving from the UK to Toronto would actually be worse off in terms of access to reasonably priced skiing.

As previous posters have said, there is blue mountain in collingwood, horse shoe valley in elmvale/barrie, snow valley in barrie, devils glen near orangeville

Lots of different resorts, would agree with sovenir if you are expecting Alps type skiing then goto western canada, if you want a weekend/everyday for a couple of hours skiing then different resorts round GTA area should be fine

Regards

Steve
