I've just been watching this on the Sky news channel and they're reporting that there are survivors but don't know how many yet. They've just interviewed one guy who was on the plane! :eek: Those who escaped got out through the emergency exits and fire crews etc. were on the scene within minutes. What an awful thing to happen :(

Just heard a Reutuers (not sure how to spell it, sorry) report on Sky News , all got out OK and no fatalities, only minor injuries, good news !

Again, confirmed all got out alive, one baby seriously injured but again they have one of the finest peds hospitals in the world.

Holy Crap. Guess I should go turn on the news. I was just walking home and the weather is pretty bad around here. I've flown that flight before from Paris to Toronto on Air France. Crazy.

CP24 here says no reported fatalities and only a handful of minor injuries. Looks like everyone got out quickly.

Its amazing and I'm very happy to see that people survived. With the wind conditions at the time, this is almost the worst outcome.

Hope those people on the flights that get delayed cancelled and re routed are more understand of the problems facing airlines than they usually are on this site.

Our ICU has been on alert but code has just been cancelled. All got out, 14 with minor injuries - so at least I can go home now!!

Golly , it ain`t often you see something like this happen with with such an amazing outcome .
I should imagine there will be a few off that plane that are reassessing their lives right now - I know I certainly would .
Makes you realise just how fragile our lives are .

Interestingly, on the BBC news at lunchtime it showed pictures taken by people on their mobile phones as they were getting out of the plane! Can't say that taking a few holiday snaps would have been high on my list of priorities!!!
An absolute miracle that everyone got out okay.

Apparently they had everyone evacuated from the plane in 2 minutes or less!

It certainly was a miracle that everyone survived - it could easily have turned into such a terrible tragedy!

My brother was caught up in the traffic gridlock after this happened. It took him 3 hours to reach the 401 west to london from the airport. He said it was just complete chaos - traffic was at a complete stand-still! The police did an excellent job under such terrible circumstances to get everyone moving as quickly as possible!
