Default Toronto landing

Well, it's done - we landed in Toronto last Sunday (7th November) with our four children.
Everything went very smoothly. The flight was easy. Passport control asked us if we were landing, and when we said yes, scanned and stamped our passports and visas and sent us through to immigration with a big smile and 'welcome to Canada'.
We waited for a few minutes and then the immigration officer called for my husband (the principal applicant) and ran through everything with him. We had originally intended to live in a different part of Canada, and the immigration officer commented on this, but it was not a problem, purely a matter of interest.
My husband signed all the children's confirmation of permanent residency forms, and I was called in to sign mine.
We were asked how much settlement funds we had available, but they did not ask for proof of funds - I brought a copy of our bank statement so it wouldn't have been a problem if they had asked for proof.
We were directed through to the new immigrants section, where they gave us information on child benefits, and various other forms and bits of information, and then through to pick up our luggage (the last few bags there), and to customs.
There they checked through our goods to follow list (two copies, with running totals and grand totals), stamped and dated all pages of both copies, and asked my husband to sign all pages of both copies. And yes, our dogs are listed on the goods to follow list.
They were not interested in our goods accompanying list.
They then gave us an official cover list, with our unique reference number on , and that was it - immigration complete.
We've spent a week in London Ontario (where we will be settling), the children have trained and made friends with their local hockey teams, we were given free tickets to the London Knights match on Friday, we've looked at schools and houses, we've been invited to dinner by a couple of families we've met, and we don't want to go back to the UK!
Hope we will be back out very soon.

Thanks Mark - glad it went well for you too.
Did we see you? - there was a gentleman waiting for the immigration officer as we finished, wasn't sure if it was you.
Best of luck - we've seen a house we love, so we're keen to get back as soon as we can (before it sells!)
