Small world! We're moving in about 6 weeks (just got our spousal approval through so moving now rather than later as London is bleeding us!) - also from SE London (Blackheath)!

We're sorting a holiday let in Westboro for the first couple of months whilst we find our feet/me a job/permanent accom hopefully in the same area if we like it.

Who've you used to move/ship? I'm about to compare quotes this weekend and already have a headache thinking about it.

How did you find the holiday let AnneMarie, is there a website for that?

We are taking everything as luggage. No furniture is worth shipping and electrical is all wrong anyway. We've been moving it out over time and each time take 6 large bags.

There's several out there - you can google "short term rentals" + your city

I used predominantly airbnb.ca and nearly booked with them - but have found a place on vrbo.com who's offseason rates are bang in our budget.

There's also flipkey.com

There's kijiji but tbh i felt suspicious of places that were by the owner as you hear horror stories about them not being legit, so doing it w/o being able to see the place or meet them face to face felt off for us. Lots of places on the other 3.

clever!

We're not so fortunate - but we are doing a small load of groupage. Hoping to manage to fly out with 6 suitcases and ship the rest (like summer clothing, mostly my daughter's toys lol, books, cds etc).

Thanks. Have not heard of vrbo.com or flipkey.com so will check them out. Agree on Kijiji.
