In the last three years we've had one guy wake up to find a cougar asleep under his RV in Shawnessy and a bear and her cubs who took a wander through Glenmore Park, beyond that, all I've seen in Calgary are deer, coyotes and bull snakes (non poisonous constrictors).
Wolves, coyotes, rattlesnakes, scorpions and black widow spiders don't usually pose problems for people and YES they are all found in Alberta.
