Hi
Does anyone know any good websites that offers reasonably priced flights from Toronto to other provinces? We'd like to tour Canada but don't fancy driving to some parts.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Nevertheless, Porter Airlines serve the Eastern provinces and usually have some kind of seat sale on. Use WestJet elsewhere, although to be honest, their prices are usually similar to Air Canada's. There's not a lot in it these days. You may get cheaper flights flying from Hamilton rather than Toronto Pearson, but your choice will be restricted.

My Westjet return from Regina to Vancouver came to $356 on seatsales both ways. That's still less than I'd pay in gas alone to drive it.

Cheapest I flew internally with was Porter- not that knowlegeable as we got them on a sale but wanted to throw my 2 cents in that they are a FANTASTIC airline/fav I've ever flown with

If you go to any events where the westjet exhibition wagon is e.g. stampede, other city equivalents, you can tap a screen to get a future discount off westjet flights ranging from 5% upwards. We had a couple of goes at stampede last year and snagged a 30% discount which we used on flights to San Diego. Not a guaranteed strategy but if you are at one of these events it's always worth a punt!

You can often save a few hundred bucks going over the border and flying from/to the nearest US airports to the source/destination. The hassle of using coaches or other transportation to get to and from these airports can make it not worth the stress though.

Well, yes, Porter are good. We flew to Ottawa via Halifax on sat and will return back the same way later this week. Comfortable planes, good service but no inflight entertainment. Also, because they are turboprops they are slow slow slow compared to AC and WJ jets. OK for short hops but one would prefer AC if travelling any distance.
To the OP.....there are two national carriers in Canada and one regional. Cheap flights is not something any of them does well.

Thanks for all the responses. The airlines in Canada need lot more competition. The likes of Ryanair and Easyjet need to make an entry into the market for the sake of passengers.

You wouldn't get the same low prices you get in the UK though - the distances are so much bigger and the population they're serving is much smaller.

I'm in the Holiday Inn at the Buffalo airport. We just got off a flight and will drive home in the morning. This is how we go 'most anywhere so, for example, to get from Toronto to Vancouver, we'd drive to Buffalo, fly to Seattle and take the train from there. This represents a saving overall, usually a small one, sometimes a large one, and minimises exposure to Canadians.
