Hi guys, Just got a bit of a shock ... friend of mine gave me a document he got from an immigration consultant and it says that your goods must follow within one year after landing. I double checked the WIKI as we are over the time limit landed in Nov 08 ... (movers are in in less that 3 weeks
) and it states no time limit applies to goods to follow. Anyone know the definative answer!
Thanks

OMG
I have been planning for goods to follow a long time after my move to Canada.
Stuff from my Parents house, etc, well my siblings and I own the house and contents but obviously wouldn't take them yet as it is still my Dad's home.
I am obviously planning to stay in Canada but want to take the furniture that is mine over at a later date. If there is now a time limit then it means I would have to pay duty on the things I bring over later!!
I would love a definitive answer from someone.

Hi
The definite answer is by CBSA here is the quote
"31. Only goods that were declared and listed as “goods to follow” on the settler’s original Form B4 are eligible for duty- and tax-free importation at a later time under Tariff Item No. 9807.00.00. There is no time limit for importing goods to follow that were listed on the settler’s Form B4.
