Something I read today concerned me.
When you land and then return to the UK, are you allowed to work for a UK company or must it be a Canadian one???
I won't have my PR card at that point and so will need a Travel document, but the instructions on completing the TD indicate that you can only work for a Canadian company after you have landed.
Can anyone shed any light on this??
If you carry on working as normal, does this mean you cannot return to Canada??
Thanks.

However, to retain your PR status you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years. If you're employed by a Canadian company, but working overseas, then this counts as "living in Canada".

I managed to sort out jobs in canada and moved to calgary in Oct 2008.
As already mentioned as long as you fulfil the 2 out of 5 yrs criteria, in order to keep PR status, you can work for whom and where you like
