HI
I am in one of my depressed moods and need some friendly chat - also a nice cold glass of wine might help!!!
We have now went over the two year mark with our application after being told 18 months (AoR 7/7/04). We can't wait to make the move. We got asked for a lot of updated material which has now been supplied and within a week got asked for a solicitors letter to confirm some of the facts. We sent this down over three weeks ago and haven't heard anything since (yes I know it was only 3 weeks!) We were hoping to have been asked to go for our medicals by now.
I would love to hear from anyone who is either in or thinking of going to NB/NS. We haven't been able to make up our minds although NB is in the slight lead. I have already made many new friends through this and the Canilink site who have moved to either NB or NS or have recently carried out reccie trips. It is great having the support of everyone who has went through the process or is at the same stage as us - at least then you know there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I appreciate all views good or bad - even if it is just a mail to give me a kick up the rear for being so impatient.
Thanks
Irene

Hi, we're going to New Brunswick! We are going under the PNP Scheme but I don't want to tell you the timescales as it might make you even more depressed!! We are hoping to be there early Spring. We like the Sackville area which is great because your near to moncton for good shopping and yet near to nova scotia also.

A chilled glass of Chateau Chunder anyone?
I did have a really quite good BC Cabernet Sauvignon in Whistler, so maybe the reds aren't so gut wrenching.

My wife said to me today (after another horrible glass of BC white) "you'll just have to switch to drinking beer."

Hi Irene
We are heading for NB (the visa fairy willing).
Like Susie we are looking around the Sackville area.
We chose NB because we are on a business PNP and their programme seemed to be very resonable. We have visited and feel really at home there.
Being from the south coast of England it's also nice to have the sea fairly close by.
Why are you attracted to NB/NS?
What kind of work do you do?
Penny

You got any more news yet? Friends of ours have just gone over to NB for their interview and were told the timescale from submitting your full pack after interview was now 2 - 3 months! Wow, that's quick.
..... as an afterthought did you try any canadian wine when you were there?

HI All
I haven't as yet been to NB or NS but will be visiting in November. We have always went to Ontario.
I just love the look and the information pack sent by the areas has been very informative. I just think in the long run it is one of the best and safest places to bring up children. We have a 5 1/2 year old girl and a 7 month old boy. We can afford a better house in the area with a lower or near non existent mortgage so can afford to have less pressure on the work front giving us more family time. It is also easier for the family to visit as they are not too keen on flying and even saving an hour or so will make a difference. My eldest daughter is not coming with us just now as a) she is in love and B) she wants to finish her degree here in Scotland. She will though go through the process of registration etc to keep her options open for at least a couple of years.
I note all the comments about wine - thank goodness I am going to bring mine over with me - though by the sounds of it I'll go through it quite quickly (open invite to the house warming!!!).
I'd love to keep in touch and hear about all your experiences. We are hopeful that we will get our medical requests in the next week or so. A few of our friends are receiving theirs now. Subject to the time scale we would have liked our October flight to be our departure date, but it might now either be December or January. Really comes down to when we can sell the house as all our collateral is tied up in that.
Again thanks for the replies
