Well it really is a small world eh! Yep, we used to go to Maximes on the Friday nights (around 1995'ish) in my rock-chick days .....it was a superb night. My mate (Deb) (who is actually the niece of my OH) would have been about 30 then....I think she went to Hayward Grammar till 1982 or 83?? What about you?

Hey

Same time at Maximes for me too. Probably about 95-96 last time I went. Keep saying I'm gonna go again but never get round to it.

Your mate is the same age as me. I left St James in Farnworth in 1982. I lived about 15 mins away from Hayward Grammar until I was nine I think. Whats Deb's last name? I take it you're not a Rock Chick any more?

Ooh, I think she'd kill me if I broadcast her full name on the net eh!! She does have 2 brothers though...Jason (37 now) and Elton (28)....so if you can piece that one together you'll probably know who she is

Me....a rock-chick anymore? Well I've grown to love country so much now I'm here, listen to it at home, in the car, and on the net!! However, just last month I took my 15 year old son with me to see my metal gods of the late 80's....those bad boys of rock....Motley Crue....here in Red Deer. And I loved every bit of it....felt 19 again (oh I wish!! )

Oh no....not another RUSH fan!! My hubby's been a fan of theirs for over 20 years now and drives me mad with his collection Always used to try and top HIS band (v.childish I know!) over MINE (Motley, WASP, Cinderella), but we both shared a love for Whitesnake and Guns'n'Roses......ah, days gone by!

Where in Canada are you coming out to?

Saw Whitesnake at the Apollo last year. They were superb. I'm still into all that stuff from back then.....Scorps, UFO,DC, Priest etc. Rush were always my fave band tho. Saw them first in 79 and last time was at the NEC in Sept 05. They were awesome....dbd from this forum is a huge fan you know!!!

I never liked all the HAIR bands of the 80's. Bit too posy n ponsy for my liking.

We are moving to Barrie once our house is sold over here. Where are you from over here?

Cheers

Hi its Kelly (Drew's OH)

I hate RUSH!!!!!! but love Whitesnake and Guns and Roses. I used to go to Maxims and walk around and around and around seeing who was in!!!! before hitting the dance floor. Whats even sadder is I actually went when it was Tiffany's!! obviously my taste in music is quite varied.
Went watching Whitesnake last year at the Apollo in Manchester and David Coverdale doesn't look any different (must have had some 'work' done to keep him looking so young, but hey what a great night.)

Hi Kelly! I'm glad I'm not the only one re: Rush (My one and only fave of theirs is Time Stand Still but that's pretty much it really). I can't believe Whitesnake toured last year, and especially at the M'cr Apollo too! We were in the UK for 8 months last year, what month did they play? Like I said to Drew, I've kinda weaned myself off rock nowadays and got into modern day country here (Alberta is very big country music here). You're moving to Barrie. Well I can't comment on there personally, but we lived for 9 months in another area of SW Ontario, north of London. I hope you both enjoy where you're heading.

When I think about it it was the back end of 04 when we saw W/S. Funnily enough our kid's going seeing them at the Apollo this Saturday.

Weve been to Barrie four times in the last 18 months and really like it.
It has everything you need but is far enough away from the metropolis to suit us. What's Red Deer like?

Drew
