HI Everyone,

can anyone tell me where and how i can find the driving theory test on-line for Nova Scotia?

I can only find the one to BC which i try often as it brings up different questons each time.

do they drive any different in Nova Scotia????

Hey thanks for this, first time attempt yielded 20/25 which is at pass rate, but a few questions threw me off badly (red rectangular stop light, never seen one of those in BC !).

My daughter who is 15 and no idea about driving scored 15/25!!!!!
All by guessing. Keep doing it often as the questions change each time.

You have 3 months to do it after you arrive. Once you have been driving here for a good month or so you will automatically know what's what on the road. I got 2 wrong in all and one of those was because I listened to my Canadian husband and he was wrong!!lol.

I heard it was 3 months if you brought a UK drivers licence and a year if you brought over an international drivers licence (like the AA used to issue but now the post office issue it I think).

Anyone confirm this ?

Anyhow, we would take out test soon as to get it outta the way.

3 months to take the test once a landed resident.
International licence is irrelevant in Canada.

Stupid really as you can be a visitor and drive for 6 months ( maximum time allowed to visit on a visitor visa)

Taking a test is the main thing I fear. I loath tests of any kind. I have driven for 25 years with not so much a a parking ticket. But do not want to do another driving test.

my hubby did a theory test on-line lastnight and couldn't believe some of the answers it was so funny. He scored 16 out 25. I guess he needs to look up on the driving books now as driving tankers is his career. I have yet to do the whole test will tonight, but not as easy as it looks. One question was; if you were on the highway and blue flashing lights were coming up behind you what should you do? 4 answers, but he couldn't believe the correct answer. Not telling the right one until see if any of forum people can, or no what it is.

Any idea about the licence rules if you are not landed resident, but on a student visa and partner on an associated open work permit? (in BC that is)

It would depend by how much you were speeding at the time and if you think you could out run them or not!

One thing to remember, Don't be a smart arse!!! ( like me) I read the questions and if I thought I definately knew answer before reading all questions, hit the button
When I realised I got more wrong, I made sure I would read all of them properly, checked to see if it was a trick question then answered. Then I got more right. Make sure you remember when you do the real thing! I still dread the thought of doing it though ,a nd will take some driving lessons first to pick up some tips.
