Default Temp Jobs

Hi all,
In your opinion, would it be possible for us to immigrate to Calgary, and
find temporary jobs, until we found more suitable jobs for us both? We would
have enough to live on for 12 months and have quite a large deposit on a
house? I know it's hard to predict the future, but would we be able to buy
some decent, in a good area, with decent school, for about $300000-$350000?
thanks and regards to all,
gibbos1

Assuming you dont want attached garage, and would be able to 'survive' in 1300 sqft or less? Yes you could find something in a decent area for that price range.

try looking on mls.ca. that should give you an idea of what you can get.

NW http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5392019

SW http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5418530

SE http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5418599

NE http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5414144

The four links are NOT necessarily the cheapest in the price range you quoted. They are however in my opinion located in one of the 'nicer' subdivisions in each quadrant.
Be aware that the North of the city is considered more ethnically diverse (thats nw and ne) than the south.
The NE is considered to be the least desirable quadrant (also has a much higher concentration of SE asians and East Indians) although the most 'reviled' subdivision (forest lawn) is actually in the SE Quadrant.
