011 44 1234 567890
in essence its:
+ 44 1234 567890
But, in the Resume, you may want to put this as:
+ 44 (0) 1234 567890
As you would notice the first 0 is only used when calling a UK number from within the UK and is not dialed when calling the number from outside the country. Instead its replaced by the UK country code (44), but before that they would have to dial the number to get an international switch board, which in case of Canada is 011.

Use the number style that Biiiiink showed you - simple and straightforward.
When you move to Canada and want to call the UK you will have to use 011 44 ???? ???? yourself anyway. Wouldn't even put a (0) in front of the UK area code as it is not required and will only confuse the matter.

A good way to find out what prefixes to use, see:
http://www.countrycallingcodes.com/
If you enter the country you are calling from and the country you are calling, it will give you what you need to enter before the telephone number.
