Default Teaching in Nova Scotia

I am a qualified kindergarten to sixth grade teacher from the states, living and working in the UK. My husband and I are planning on moving to Nova Scotia. I could really use any advise you may have on teaching, and how to get started. Please.

Google Nova Scotia Department of Education and follow the links for Teacher Certification.

They need a copy of your undergrad and B.Ed transcripts (or if you did a 4 year B.Ed. that's fine) to make sure you have all the required courses. In about 6-8 weeks you'll find out what courses you are missing if any, and whether they can certify you. Then you look for jobs. The Nova Scotia schoolboard links are on the department website.

I did my B.Ed. in the USA and I am certified to teach in NS. No problem.
