Hi, we have a couple of tea chests - last used apparently about 20 years a go and still with a faint aroma of tea leaves about them. They're made of wood with metal flashings. We were going to pack a few things in them and thus bring them back to Canada with us - but will they get through the border inspectors? Won't bother if these are a no no. Would really appreciate any information. Thank you.

If they are made of a manufactured wood product such as a plywood, then they should be OK. As they are 20 years old they won't be compliant with the ISPM15 standard for wooden packaging. See thread http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...ghlight=ispm15 for more background on this. For peace of mind I would check with your removal / shipping company first.
