Default Tax Return 2012

Can anyone help? My daughter filed an online tax return last year 2012 using Turbotax, she has only just realised that she didn't get a refund, even though Turbotax indicated she should be getting a small refund. Should she have received ANYTHING, a bit of paper confirming her refund or will that all have been done online via email and the such????

She should have recieved a Notice of Assessment that would tell her that either the Canada Revenue Agency accepted her return as filed, or an explanation of adjustments they made.

Did TurboTax give her a filing receipt?

She thinks she got a Turbotax receipt, but nothing else, will she be in lots of trouble? She's going to the tax man we use this year, so hopefully he can clear some mess up for her.

Trouble? I'm no expert, but I can't see how? Tell her to stop worrying.

She can call 1-800-959-8281 and ask for a copy of her Notice of Assessment. She should have a copy of here tax return in front of her when she calls as they will ask for some numbers for identification.

I'll give that task to her and wait for the sigh and pout

Might just have gone "missing" somewhere along the line. One of my returns, needing a refund, disappeared even though it was posted in the same package as the return for my wife. Hers arrived...seemed odd mine didn't

We only found out the next year and filed it again. Wasn't a big issue so I doubt your daughter will have any problems.
