Default Tax refund length of time.

Hi all,
Posting to see if anyone else has had a similar situation.
My husband and I filed our first ever paper tax return, prepared on TurboTax, at the end of March. I received a tiny tax refund a couple of weeks ago but 17 weeks after initially filing the automated line is still saying my husband's part (and hopefully the bigger refund) hasn't been assessed yet. When we've rung and been able to speak to an actual person they've not been able to tell us anything other than 'keep waiting'. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Looking online this timescale seems to exceed all normal times for processing tax returns.
Thanks in advance!

It's been quite a while but I seem to recall a significant time gap in ours when done by mail compared to when we began netfiling.

Thanks Bristol.
Perhaps just a waiting game then. As time ticks on though you can't help but wonder if us first timers did something wrong. Hopefully not!
p.s I'm guessing your name is based on where you lived before. We are also former Bristolians. Now living in Oakville

I think our first one was about four months.

Since then we've been able to file online, and refunds are usually back in a few weeks.
