Tax Deduction : Spouse or common-law partner
Hi,
I am new to the Canada taxes and trying to understand if I got The Spouse Tax Deduction right : if my wife is not working during the all year I can file a joint declaration and add her basic personal amount (e.g. Federal is $11,138) to the total deductions prior to applying the 15% rate to calculate the final deduction on taxes to be paid? Correct?
thanks,
