Tangram

Was just wondering what your thoughts were on the Mazda CX7?

How are you finding it, what it's like on juice, insurance etc.

Cheers.

It was about mid price around the Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4 V6 etc.

The one I got was an ex demo ( sales guys wife was using it ) so had 10k km on it when i got it but loads of kit. Nice and nippy on the highway ( never get trapped behind a truck ), fuel - well none of the bigger Crossovers or 4x4s are exactly economical are they, I guess low 20s on highway, less around town. But I don't do the 80 miles aday I was doing in the UK to and from work so gas costs are way down.
Ins I got full coverage for me and the mrs for $1k per year.

Hope that helps.

No experience of the Nissan, but I would recommend the CRX7. The bigger one is out now CX9 with the 3.5 V6 but its no nippier than its smaller sibling.

Depends how BIG you want your car. I just wanted something bigger than a sedan but not a monster truck and the CX7 fitted the bill. Also looked at the Murano but it was more expensive and the Ford Edge was ..... a Ford.

Just a thought.... and sorry to interrupt... but we looked at the CRX7 back in August and were put off it by the fact that it ran on premium fuel (always 10c a litre more or so) and at the time it didn't do the 7 seater version. Snazzy and all that it was, we plumped for the Hyundai Sante Fe (new one) - 7 seat option and tons of extras included that you had to pay for with the CRX (cheaper too).

I'm sure the new CRX is a fine SUV, we also have a Mazda 6, so appreciate the drive etc, but just a thought re the fuel etc, and I can honestly say the Santa Fe is great....

I'm sure it is. It swayed me that all the options were on it and I didnt have to pay any extra. Also I have had Mazdas before and knew I could rely on them, never had a H and the rep on them in the UK isn't great.

Premium fuel doesnt bother me as I do so few miles here.

Each to their own but you probably have valid points there re the extras and the fuel. Depends on your circumstances and I don't profess to be Jeremy Clarkson.
