No different to a Laptop with an LCD screen. Should be fine.

exactly what i am thinking...is there a way of finding out for definates if im allowed or not, as me and partner will be going to the airport ourselves and if not accepted would have to just kind of leave it there, which i do not want to do.....

You don't go though customs outbound so not an issue. You may have a problem getting it through security though. With laptops they invariably ask you to turn it on when at security to make sure it really is a laptop. Even calling won't give a definite answer, it is up to the security officer at the time. Maybe call the airline, they should be able to give you more of an insight. If you carry it with you, have some packaging in case you have to check it through though.

I have taken a mini DVD player which is similar to a small LCD TV. How small is small?

Probably be allowed - but what are you expecting to receive on it when you get here?

It shouldn't be a problem. It's no bigger than a laptop. You might want to keep an eye on the weight of your carry-on bag, though.

Contrary to what another poster said, and will all due respect, I have never been asked to switch on my laptop, nor have I seen it happen to anyone else.

A guy at a check in counter asked to see my portable CD player when I flew from Birmingham to Chicago back in 2000. That is the first and only time that anything like that has ever happened to me though and I've flew to North America and back quite a few times over the years both before and since 9/11.

Same here.

The ONLY time this happened was flying out of Tel Aviv but they also wanted to see my recently saved documents and calendar to make sure i was telling the truth. Pretty strict airport for sure.

I wouldn't worry about the midget TV.
