My UK laptop came over with me in January 2009 and is still going strong :) The power cable died a few months ago so I got a new one with a Canadian plug. I'm used to the keyboard thing now, but whenever my Canadian OH is here using it he gets very frustrated with the slightly different keyboard layout :rofl:

Not sure what the power cord on it is like but the ones sold here in North America have a power converter on them (the box that is part of the cord). Because of that all you need is a plug adapter (less than $5) and you are good to go. if it has a DVD player that might not work with our DVDs, it all depends on the region code. |

However, the power cable (the one that plugs into the wall) is usually detachable from the power converter. If so, the OP could simply buy a new power cable that has a US/Canada plug - plug one end into the wall and the other into the power converter. The cable that plugs into the laptop is the one that is usually fixed to the power converter. |

They won't work in Canada because hey don't have BlockHeater. All Canadian laptops have BlockHeater to stop your balls freezing off. HTH. |
