Default Taking guns to Canada

My Son holds a Uk full open Firearms/shotgun cerificate, and would like to take 2 shotguns and 2 sporting rifles with him if excepted. (They just did their medicals two weeks ago, so hopefully they aren't to far off).

Does anyone know anything about taking guns to Canada? (Manitoba) or anything about canadian firearms certificates/tests?

1. Assuming that he is 18 or over, you should read this :http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...-eng.html#P009
2. The following is from CBSA http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...d2-2-1-eng.pdf
"Firearms
25. Canada has stringent regulations on firearms. Settlers
planning to bring a firearm into Canada should check with
the chief firearms officer of the province or territory through
which they intend to enter the country. For more
information and the addresses of these officials, obtain a
copy of Memorandum D19-13-2, Customs Tariff – Criminal
Code – Importation of Offensive Weapons, from one of the
regional customs offices listed in the Appendix."
3. He will also need a Possession and acquisition license it is pretty well laid out here: http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/factsheets/moving_e.asp

Good luck
