Default Study Permits arrived

Wow! I am impressed! I applied for Study Permits (London) last Monday.......and they have arrived this morning! That's pretty quick work.

We have our flight booked for the 9th December so now I need to run around and try to get the dogs and cat on this flight with us. I am in such a tizzy as I never expected them to come before we left!!! Are we doing the right thing???? PR is taking an age (June 2003) and we are probably close to a conclusion, so in some ways perhaps making the leap this way is not the best way.......but, then again PR could easily take another 6-8 months in which case we will be pleased that we made the move.

We have just been so fed-up sitting around here in the UK when we have a lovely place out there waiting for us. What do you guys think? Would you move now?

I am so excited now that it has sunk in! My husband is doing a business course and I am going to apply from within for an open work permit so that I can get the horsey business up and running. The study permits give us 3 years of grace so if we are unsuccessful with this PR we will still have enough time to re-apply.

Oooooh got loads to do and still don't know whether we can get the dogs on our flight. Good luck with your PR and I will still be on here as Ontario Winters mean a lot of sitting around in the warm house, lol!!!

So because your husband is studying, you are allowed to work? I've been trying to find the rules on this b/c I want to study out there and it would be great if mine would be able to work while I'm on the course. Everything I've found so far confuses me!

Yes the spouse of a Study Permit holder is given an open work permit so your hubby could work if you chose to study. You can apply for both at the same time, but I preferred to wait until we are in Canada before applying for the open work permit.
