I need to get a transformer fairly quickly, can anyone recommend somewhere? I live in Edmonton. It should be a 3000 watt voltage converter (I think)...Needs to run tv, video, iron etc (big stuff). Thanks.

http://www.voltageconverters.com/vol...onverters.html
imo competitive prices and very fast delivery - without duty / fees for border crossing since they ship from canada.

btw - have you tried the search function of this forum?

You'll have to be careful how you use a 3000W step up in Canada. 3000W @ 120V is going to draw 25 Amp under full load. Generally the circuit breaker on a single phase outlet will trip at 15 A.

I would have thought she meant 3000W at 240 volts which is 12.5 amps?
